Recent events have prompted many organizations and people to take a closer look at racism. A comfortable way for people to begin to examine equity issues is to learn how the brain is wired to make unconscious connections that can affect decisions and choices. This workshop provides participants with a basic understanding of implicit bias (also known as unconscious or involuntary bias).

During the workshop you will:

•                    Understand the critical difference between implicit biases and racism

•                    Learn how implicit biases form and why we have them

•                    Appreciate how implicit biases cause stress and interfere with both decision-making and understanding others

•                    Recognize two ways to weaken such biases and diminish their impact

•                    Receive tools for next steps in your anti-racist journey
